Designers have shown us the future: what will this Spring and Summer look like?
Here are our hits - and misses - for the coming season:
African prints
Proenza Schouler
We just came back from Morocco. We fell in love with Africa.
We had to restrain ourselves not to fill our wardrobe with saruals, kaftans and flowy headscarves...
So, of course, we love the prints!
the 20s
Channel
The raging 20s are back, and we are loving it! An a-line dress and a long strand of pearls? Got em, love em! And let’s not forget art deco patterns and jewelry. It’s also the perfect trend to emulate if you want to keep the colour-blocking fever alive and well
the sleeveless tuxedo
Givenchy
Oh boy, do we love this! The sleeveless tuxedo is by far our season favorite. It can jazz up any look, from the jeans+t-shirt combo to the little black dress, or nude over leggings… It’s a must and we need one! the total pastel wash
Givenchy
Ironically, we are using the same look for a hit and for a miss. The Molly Ringwald inside of any child of the 80s will feel like saying “Yes! Yes! Yes!” to a total pastel look, but there is just something about pastel colours that feels washed out and blah to us.
(don’t get us wrong, we lovelove the flowy tuxedo top, even in soft pink… we just don’t think it needs to be worn in a total pale candy floss ensemble)
large belts
Burberry Prorsum
We love the look, we really do!(We’d even go for the large belt OVER the sleeveless tuxedo top)
But it just doesn’t work on most figures… shame
Of course, we didn’t fall in love with everything…
