In an nutshell: I find unique ways to make ordinary items (like zippers and wool) look like fabulous jewelry!

About me: I grew up in the California Bay Area. I work in marketing for a software company which can get a bit dry (as you can imagine) and so I take every opportunity that I can to be creative outside of my 9 to 5 job! In addition to making jewelry I also write and produce songs which I then turn into YouTube videos! I'm silly, sarcastic and sensitive and my work tends to mirror that. ;)
Favorite materials: Zippers! And felted wool. Both are so tactile and easy to manipulate.

Inspiration: I'm often inspired by other artists and their unique approach to wearable art. This time it was simply a matter of wanting to make something that I couldn't afford to go out and buy! (I wear my own jewelry!)
First thing I made: The first zippered piece I made was the piece entitled "Curiously Coiled." It came together better than I'd ever expected and that motivated me to keep going! I imagine if it hadn't turned out well, I would have given up and we wouldn't be talking right now!

New and exciting in my store: Well, my store has only been open a few weeks, so technically everything is new and exciting! I am partial to the "Tentacles" necklace and the "Grenade" pieces...but that's just me.
Favorite item: I think I let that cat out of the bag in the last question, but my favorite item has got to be the "Tentacles" necklace. It is absolutely stunning when it's on and it always gets quite a bit of attention.

Why buy handmade: There are a few reasons to buy handmade...I find the quality generally exceeds mass produced items. You are directly supporting an artist and not a "big business." And, you end up owning the most original things that no one else will have!
