Cindy, of Starry Designs , is a long time "e-friend" of mine. I had contacted her as a mentor, back when i started my own Etsy shop, for some usefull information, and have been an admirer of her talent and genuine friendlyness ever since!

She makes the most amazing birds nest rings

She also makes these nests in pendant or earring form.... but I must admit i adore the ring! *hint* Wouldnt that make the perfect Mother's Day gift? *hint*

Her craftmanship is remarkable!
Only the finest metals and lovelyest gems are used to create her simple yet stunning designs.

My personal favorite, the modern looking Silver ball collection.

And she has quite the success she so naturally deserves: Starry Desings has past the 1000 sales bar! Congratulations!

what my girlfriend wants

what my girlfriend wants is a cool shopping blog for girls and their guys… because, as the author says, "really, we have no clue what you want"!

We have the honor of being featured in a post that compares fine jewelry for a hefty sum, to fine artisan jewelry, for a more modest fee.

They compared our hand wrapped gemstones, Copper and vintage buttons sculpture ring to a lovely, but pricey, Rachel Leigh Ring.

I'll let you decide which is lovelier ;)

Woven gemstones on gorgeous red vintage boiled leather. It features Amber, Onyx, Carnelian, Jasper, a copper coloured Freswater Pearl and Garnet, on red beading wire and Copper findings.

This vintage red leather, red Mookite and black Onyx necklace is light, delicate and bold, like the Calder hanging mobiles.It features gorgeous red vintage boiled leather, red mookite chips and black onyx chips, on red beading wire and Silver findings.

The gems and findings are all new.

The vintage leather comes from a wallet i bought in a flea market; it was like brand new, still in its original packaging, but obviously from the mid 70s... the wallet tore down in my hands as soon as i inserted my first card in it!

Amy is a 29 year old jewelry artist / metalsmith with a lot of talent!

I stumbled upon her etsy shop and fell in love with her work!

I LOVE this one!
Bold and beautifull Panel Necklace; hammered Sterling Silver square.

Then there is the lovely and feminine Kallos collection - necklace, bracelet and earrings
I just cant get over the handmade oxidized Sterling Silver chains! The look and feel of the chain is very well complimented by etched Czech glass beads.

le temps des cerises - cherry necklace and earring set

This cherry button necklace and earrings set is oh! so very kitsch and trendy!

The pendant is a replica of a very popular 1940's - 1950's style, for the pin-up in you!

It features bright red repurposed vintage buttons, and cute green glass leaves, on brand new Brass findings.

I also made a set in Copper and one in Silver... more pictures to come!

Every time i start doing those for the summer fairs, i say to myself: "meh, maybe they wont be so popular this summer..." and then i see this ; I guess people like them!

Placebo, Metropolis de Montréal, 7 avril 2007

Pour féliciter mon chum d'avoir terminé et réussi avec des fantastiques résultats son AÉC, je lui ai offert deux billets pour le show de Placebo . Il m'a invité à y aller avec lui! Je pensais en faire une petite escapade en amoureux, mais nous somme finalement allé en gang...

Cette dernière était accompagné du chanteur de Evaline qui jouait du violoncelle. Evaline assurait la première partie... 10/10 pour l'énergie, définitivement! La musique semblait bien bonne, mais, quoique tout le monde vante l'acoustique du metropolis, je trouvais qu'il était difficile de bien entendre...


J'adore Placebo et on écoute leurs albums en boucle depuis qu'on a découvert ce groupe il y a deux ans. On était dans une boutique, Pure Morning jouait, et on trouvait que la voix de Brian Mulko ressemblait à celle du chanteur de Rush... Nous étions accroché!

Le concert était vraiment bon! Ils ont chanté presque toutes les pièces que je voulais entendre, et, en fait, il n'y en avait qu'une que je ne connaissais pas (I know).

Un seul bémol: la technique. Je n'ai jamais vu un spectacle qui avait plus de problèmes techniques que celui là! À chaque changement de guitare de Brian Mulko, la technicienne lui tendait une guitare qui ne fonctionnait pas... Bon princes, ils ont patiemment attendu la correction de ces problèmes sans trop avoir l'air faché, et la foule les encourageait pour leur patience. Après trois guitares inutilisables de suite, Mulko a conclu la chanson One of a kind avec ces paroles "On top of the world you get sweet fucking nothing done!" avant de sauter a pieds joints sur sa guitare et quitter la scène! J'avais peur qu'ils ne reviennent pas!

Malgré la quantité incroyable de problèmes techniques, l'ensemble du spectacle était très bon! Les mecs n'ont pas trop jasé entre les tounes, mais leur énergie étaient très présente! Et la foule était en délire total. Une heure et demi de leurs meilleures pièces, toutes ciselées et rodées durant une tournée qui dure depuis un an maintenant!

J'ai adoré!

Ils seront de retour a Mtl pour osheaga à l'automne... ne les manquez pas!

cant wait for spring

I just cant wait for spring!

We have had lovely weather here lately, not too cold, lots of sunshine, and its making me long my cool spring clothing... and activities :)

These cards where a big favorite before the Holidays.. I must admit I was even swamped with orders at one point!

They are quite unique... and as cute as a button!

Each card is hand embroidered, featuring gorgeous multicoloured vintage repurposed buttons.

They are made out of recycled and often salvaged paper / cardboard i collect in the recycling bins at my various work places... I just cant bare the thought of perfectly good cardboard going to waste!

I use all kinds of buttons: new, vintage, in several colours and materials: plastic, glass, metal, mother of pearl...

This particular batch of cards was made using rejected buttons i came upon... They where tossed from the factory because they had slight imperfections... some have smudges, or are slightly oval, some are not perfectly embossed, and some even don't have all their wholes, or none at all! I found myself with a bag full of unloved buttons! I just had to find them a new home!
