.tomate d'épingles. samples at Craftin' Outlaws
Craftin' Outlaws is an annual 'alternative' craft fair held in Columbus, Ohio.
It was a pretty well-attended fair (500 people in the door in the first two hours, and it went for about seven hours) . . . often, the basket of buttons and earrings was the first thing people noticed, and a lot of people looked at the tags even when they didn't buy something.

Warm Fuzzies Fiber Art was there and set up a basket full of .tomate d'épingles. samples on her table with a "Free with purchase sign" and they got a lot of attention!

Complete interview with Megan Nicole Larson from Makeup by Megan Nicole
Tell me a little about yourself...
My name is Megan Nicole and I am a 23 year old makeup artist currently living in Monterey, California.
I currently sell Avon, NAO, and Artistry products, have my own online boutique featuring my clothing line Diva Couture, and work as a makeup artist.
Tell me about Makeup by Megan Nicole.com...
I began my store as a way to pay for my professional makeup kit.
Soon the demand for my jewelry and knitted goods exceeded my ability to make the products.
It was at this point back in April 2006 that I decided to turn my little online store into a boutique featuring other unique designers and crafters. I sought different artisans through etsy etsy and voila! Megan Nicole's Boutique sprang up!
What’s new and exciting in your store?
I have added a new spa essentials section. It features wonderful products to pamper yourself with, such as miSPA. I even have included vegan friendly companies.
I have also designed some new Diva Couture shirts and coming soon this Fall I will have new line of handbags and clutches!
I see you are a crafter yourself, tell me a little about that...
I primarily do knitting and crocheting. I love creating ponchos, scarves, and handbags. I love creating! I'll see a certain yarn and instantly get inspired to make a certain item. I do make throw blankets upon requests but typically I stick to smaller projects.
Occasionally you'll find jewelry crafted by me on my site but for Fall, expect to see more of my traditional knitted and crocheted items.
Where do you find your inspiration?
I find my inspiration several places. I find it often when I go to craft stores. I'll see a yarn color and think "this will make a wonderful scarf".
I also stock up on pattern books for ideas and guidelines.
Lastly, I am a religious fan of Project Runway and fashion mags. I go through the latest trends and see how I can incorporate what is trendy and hot with my vision to create timeless pieces.
What is your favorite item?
.tomate d’epingles. charm necklaces are a big hit! They sell almost before I can get them on the site!
I also love all of the miSPA products- especially the leave-in hair conditioner! Its the Houdini of hair products! It makes split ends disappear!
Can you give us a sneak peak of what's to come?
I have purses and clutches I will be designing for fall that include charms from .tomate d’epingles. (charms similar to those found on the popular charm necklaces). I'm very excited about these! These will be more high end items and fit the couture line. Unlike my Vaca bags, these bags are meant to be showcases at night and are pieces of artwork. Each bag will require considerable attention to detail. Every bag will be one of a kind and never be duplicated. Each bag will come with a personalized note for authenticity. These bags will be very hot!
Thank you very much, Megan Nicole!

introducing new items in my shop: men's charm necklaces!
here they are!
the long awaited men's line is finally available :)
i have had to sit down and think this one through, i must admit

i was not very inspired, off the bat... all i could think of where beaded black necklaces... or brown... i had no inspiration!

but i think these came out quite nice!
i am now looking for a new idea, to make some that are less "busy"
funny tidbit: as some of you know, English is not my first language, and nor is it my boyfriends... so when i was looking for names for my new "line" of jewelry for men, he suggested "man jewels"
haha
that could of been a kinky title indeed :)
